Unit of inquiry:
Today we reviewed what the three main focuses of media are 1) to inform the audience 2) to persuade/convince the audience 3) to entertain the audience. We looked at the Media in a day tally and discussed what we saw/heard a lot of, what we didn't really see, and what was one that stuck in our mind. We then discussed where/how/why we saw the different forms. As a class we then watched a t.v. commercial and discussed which of the three main focuses the commercial had. We also discussed how different types of media can use 1 or 2 or all three of the main focuses. We then listened to a radio commercial and again discussed discussed which of the three main focuses the commercial had.
