Math:
Students in grade 1 - practised using ten frames to solve number problems.
Students in grade 2 - began to look at addition problems using doubles. ex. 4+4=8, 5+5=10 etc.
Agendas: Students wrote reminders
1. Summative Assessment rough copy due tomorrow, please finish tonight and return so students can begin working on their good copy
2. spelling test Friday
3. Book orders due Oct. 23rd
4. After School Care invoices due Oct. 19th
5. Movie Day forms and money to be sent in - Held by the parent guild
Parents please sign/initial your child's agenda to show me that you have read it, when that is done they will get a sticker to decorate their agenda each time.
Unit of inquiry:
Today students worked on their summative assessment - they continued to fill in the rough copy template. Those who finished the rough copy template started to complete the good copy booklet.
Language:
Students in grade one: Practised putting their new learned spelling words into use, they used them to fill in sentences based on their meaning, words that begin with and end with the same sounds, and rhyming.
Students in grade two: Practised putting their new learned spelling words into use by filling in a crossword with clues, writing a short blurb using some of the words and using the word meanings to fill in the blanks.
