Math:
Students in grade 1 -
worked on ordinal numbers from first to tenth. They also worked on time in relation to the days of the week. When students completed their math workbooks they worked on a Halloween math package reviewing ordinal numbers and skip counting.
Students in grade 2 - worked on understanding a clock. We discussed how long a minute is, and what the three hands show (seconds, minutes, hours).

Unit of inquiry:
Today we reviewed what the three main focuses of media are 1) to inform the audience 2) to persuade/convince the audience 3) to entertain the audience. We also reviewed fact vs. opinion definitions. We also reviewed what point of view is. Students then completed a package deciding which statements were informing, persuading, and convincing. If students did not finish this they have brought it home for home work.
Journal: Students wrote If I was invisible, like a ghost, I would . . .

Students in grade one presented their monster writing
