Students in grade one: reviewed writing an opinion piece. Students were given the story the three little bears. Students then told they were the judges and were faced with a very difficult decision to make. They had to decide whether or not Goldilocks should be grounded for her actions. Students were given both sides of the story 1) Being Goldilocks - she was hungry, tired and lost and 2) the bear family whose items were broken and food eaten.
Students were given the chance to ask Goldilocks and Little Bear questions.
Once this was complete students were then required to write their opinion piece on why she should or should not be grounded.
