Unit of inquiry:
We began our new UOI on Structures. Students discussed what a structure was and gave some examples. Students then discussed different materials we use to build with, we thought of some great materials such as; concrete/cement, brick, wood, plastic, metals, fabrics, mortar. Students were then put into three groups. and told they had a store. In their store they only had four shelves to put items on. They were then given pictures of items and told to sort them onto the four shelves based on their materials. Students then labeled the shelves, and glued the pictures on.
