Parents please sign/initial your child's agenda to show me that you have read it, when that is done they will get a sticker to decorate their agenda each time.

Unit of inquiry:
Today we reviewed what the three main focuses of media are 1) to inform the audience 2) to persuade/convince the audience 3) to entertain the audience. We also reviewed fact vs. opinion definitions. We also reviewed what point of view is. Students then wrote a media journal entry describing a type of media they saw. What the purpose of the media was for and how they knew this. They also wrote about the target audience and described the type of media in detail.

Journal: Students made a detailed list of fall activities.

Language:
Students in grade one: Practised putting their new learned spelling words into use, they used them to fill in sentences based on their meaning, words that begin with and end with the same sounds, opposites and rhyming.

Students in grade two: Practised  putting their new learned spelling words into use by filling in a crossword with clues, writing a short blurb using some of the words and using the word meanings to fill in the blanks.
