Language:

Today we reviewed the elements of letter writing then both grades wrote their OWA writing assessment.

Grade 1 - writing a letter to Ms. Smith about their favourite season
Grade 2 - write a letter to a friend who was away sick giving a recount of what we did at school that day.

Calendar: the special helper puts up the date, adds to our weather graph, and counts days at school.

Math:

both grades began our mass and capacity unit. We discussed mass - is the weight of an object usually measured by a type of scale and capacity is the amount an object can hold usually using measuring spoons/cups etc.

We did a fun activity to see the capacity of four different containers:

We also had a special visit from Mrs. Smith exhibition group who gave us a presentation on racism. Teaching us what it is, the causes of racism, and how others feel because of it. Thank you girls !
